Description

As 2016 draws to a close, the fate of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 still remains shrouded in mystery. The Boeing 777-200ER disappeared in March 2014, on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. All 239 people are unaccounted for. With no Mayday call, and with aircraft satellite broadcasts placing it on a track thousands of miles from its intended route, the scope of this investigation is unparalleled. As part of multinational search efforts, the Australian Transportation Safety Bureau (ATSB) has been working tirelessly over the intervening two and a half years to locate the wreckage and ascertain the exact circumstances of the flight.

Join the AIAA Canberra committee for our exclusive 'members and guests only' end-of-year event at the ATSB, where MH370 investigators discuss the techniques used to define the search area and the challenges of this truly unique investigation. We invite all guests to join us for dinner following the presentation at BentSpoke pub in Braddon, with the first drink on us!

Tickets are FREE but registration is strictly limited and only open to AIAA members and their guests. Tickets must close on Thursday 1st December. On the night, please use the Northbourne Avenue entrance. Due to ATSB security arrangements, we encourage all patrons to arrive no later than 5:50pm for a 6pm start, as ATSB doors lock and are not publicly accessible from 6pm. The presentation is scheduled to occur from 6:00pm - 7:00pm, with dinner and drinks thereafter at BentSpoke. Food is also available at BentSpoke, but will be at your own cost.
